DIMITRI KONTOU received his Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from the University of Wales. He completed a Master of Arts degree, also in philosophy, from the University of Alberta, in 1970. After teaching at the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University, he attended the University of Victoria Law School and received his Bachelor of Laws in 1983.
Dimitri Kontou was admitted to the practice of Law in British Columbia and has been a member of the Law Society of British Columbia in good standing since 1984. For over 25 years, Mr. Kontou has used his knowledge and experience to aggressively argue his clients’ cases before all levels of court in British Columbia..
Mr. Kontou has successfully defended and achieved positive results for his clients charged with many offences ranging from shoplifting to murder, from domestic assault to kidnapping, from drug possession and trafficking to driving while impaired by drug or alcohol. He has won trials by Jury for murder, drugs, as well as various sexual offences. He has won many trials without a Jury in both the Provincial as well as the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
